Common Reasons of Not Implemented Error & Their Solutions

Have you ever confronted this Outlook Not implemented error code? Have you ever tried to figure out the reasons behind this error message? Well, nobody can tell the exact reason. I've figured out few common reasons which might be responsible for the Not implemented error in MS Outlook.

Reason - Antivirus Scanner

If you're using the Antivirus scanner, you should disable it. This is the very first thing you should do. The Antivirus scanner always scans the email messages which you send and receive. It can definitely interrupt the email processes. You should disable the Antivirus Scanner.

  • First, you can disable it within Outlook. Go to the Add-ins page, and remove it.
  • Secondly, you can disable it in Antivirus software.

Reason - Faulty Outlook Add-ins

Sometimes Outlook Add-ins can cause this Not implemented error message if they're faulty. It's highly recommended to check whether the Add-ins is causing this or not.

  • Launch Microsoft Outlook program. On the taskbar, click the File tab > Outlook Options.
  • On the Outlook Options dialog box, click the Add-Ins tab in the list. Click the Go... button.
  • On the next dialog box, disable Add-in (one at a time) and close Microsoft Outlook.

Now restart Microsoft Outlook to check if the error is resolved. If the error is resolved, this means the Add-in you've disabled, is faulty. You should remove it permanently.

Reason - Incorrect Send/Receive Settings

If the Send/Receive settings are not correct, you're likely to receive this error message. You should better reset the send/receive settings. Go to this location

You'll find an SRS file there. Rename the file ".old". Now restart Microsoft Outlook. This will create a new SRS file automatically. To read more click MS Outlook Send Receive Error.
