Perform the Step-by-Step Process Delete Duplicate Files from Your System

Step-1:
Install Tool

Download and install the Duplicate File Deleter Tool on your system. Run it as an administrator.

Select Files/Folder

In the opening wizard, click Add Files to select single/multiple files or click Add Folder to select folders.

Add Files/Folder

Now, browse and locate your files or folders to add, and click Open.

Preview Files

Next, you can see the details of your added files including path, types(File/Folder), and number of files the added folder has.

Select Folder Depth

Choose either of the two options:

  • Root & Sub Folders: Select this option to deeply scan all files from root & child folders.
  • Root Folder Only: This option scans files from the root folder only.

Choose to Show Files

You have two ways to view your added files. These are:

  • Show Duplicate Files: This option only presents the duplicate files.
  • Show All Files: With this option, you can check all unique and duplicate files.

Step-7:
Scan Duplicate Files

There are two ways to scan duplicate files: Based on File Copies (content) and Based on File Name. Select one as per your preference.

Select File Type

Additionally, choose the filter to select the file type.

  • All File Extensions: Scans all file formats added to the tool.
  • Select File Extensions: Scans and performs operations only on the selected file formats.

Start Scanning

Afterward, when all the files and features are chosen, click the Next button to proceed further.

Select Duplicate Files

Now, you can see all selected files are listed as per file extensions. Additionally, select the Duplicate Files to remove before moving forward. Ensure to uncheck the unique files to preserve them.

Select Mode

Further, choose either of the two modes to manage your duplicate files: Single Mode to perform operations on individual files or Batch Mode to perform operations on all files altogether.

Handling Duplicates

Subsequently, choose either of the three options to handle the removal of duplicate files:

  • Move to Trash: Choose to move the Duplicate Files to the Recycle Bin.
  • Move to Folder: Select this option to migrate Duplicate Files to a new location on your system.
  • Delete Permanent: This option will permanently delete the Duplicate Files and you cannot recover them again.

Delete Duplicate Files

Finally, click the Report button to view a detailed report of the deletion process.

To view the complete process report, click the Download Report button.
