PST files built in Outlook 2000 and older versions use ANSI format, while newer Outlook accounts use the latest Unicode format. If you have created the PST file in a newer version instead of Outlook 2002 or older version then this solution will not work for you.
- Exit from the Outlook application.
- Make a copy of your Outlook PST file from Documents>Outlook files.
- Go to C:\Program Files and type SCANPST in the top right corner.
- Upload the copied PST in SCANPST and hit the start button.
- Choose the Repair button and wait until the process gets completed.
- Open the command prompt by typing cmd in the run dialog box.
- Convert PST file to PSX by typing the command C:\Users\madro\Desktop\pst19\pst19upg.exe -x outlookcopy.pst.
- Now the PSX file is created, type C:\Users\madro\Desktop\pst19\pst19upg.exe -i outlookcopy.pst.
- By doing this using you will get password free PST file from PSX file.
- Using the SCANPST tool repair the newly generated PST file the browse the PST file in the tool and hit the start button.
