Having problem in OpenOffice Impress.

Postby janny@me » Wed Nov 07, 2012 6:53 am

From last week I have been facing a problem while opening OpenOffice Impress. Whenever I try to load OpenOffice impress I get a warning message asking me whether I would allow the program to make changes on my hard disk. Whenever I click on "Yes" the program gets started but doesn't finish at all and freezes. Then I try to close the application from task manager, but I can't see "Impress" in the program list. I really don't know why I'm having this. Is there anything wrong here? I never faced such situation in my past. I'm looking for someone who knows what's wrong here?

I have never heard about this error. It seems there must be a serious problem your program. Which version of OpenOffice.org are you using? You may try this, I'm not sure but still. Uninstall your OpenOffice.org from your system, delete all the install files and then re-intsall it. Hope it will work, but if doesn't then you must get a new updated OpenOffice.org program from here.

Its OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 and it's full version. I called a professional who installed this program in my computer system.

What's exactly happening there? Can you briefly explain it?
Regards. :)

I have already explained. I'm getting an error while opening a presentation on OpenOffice Impress. It asks me whether I want to allow the program to make changes to my computer. I don't know from where I'm receiving this error.

Can't you open any presentation file in OpenOffice Impress or only a particular file is creating all this?
Anyway, you may try two things:
  1. Instead of opening the presentation file directly, first open your OpenOffice Impress then open the file.
  2. If this works, then great time. But if not, then it seems the file is corrupted. You need to repair it or remake it.

If only one presentation file is not opening and all the rest files are opening, it means the file is corrupted. You must repair the file or you may try a third-party recovery tool to recover data from it. Search some good file recovery tools on Google.
Good luck. :P

You may try OpenOffice Impress Recovery. It's available with free demo version.
