How to flip a column ?

Postby LiverPAN » Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:44 am

Hello,

I have several columns of numbers in a spreadsheet, and I need to flip one column without touching the others. How can I do that ?
By flipping, I mean the first number becomes the last one, the last number comes first, etc. This is the same as multiplying the
column by an inversion diagonal matrix :
0 0 0 ... 0 1
0 0 0 ... 1 0
...
0 0 1 ... 0 0
0 1 0 ... 0 0
1 0 0 ... 0 0

Thank you in advance..

Hi,

In a new column,the formula:
Code: Select all
=OFFSET(A$1;ROWS(A$1:A$10)-ROW(A1);0)

fill down the formula.
If you want to replace previous data with the new ones, use Copy → Paste special, numbers only.

Thanks,
