Paste sections with end-notes so numbers are continuous?

Postby MikeLON » Mon May 12, 2014 7:39 am

Hi,
I had to split a long chapter into sections in separate files. When I reassemble the whole chapter the endnotes aren't numbered properly. All the endnotes in the pasted sections number "1".

How can I get them to number continuously throughout the assembled document?
thanks,
MikeLON

Hi,
I think I figured this out!
Turn off track changes in sending and receiving files. Accept all changes in all files. Convert end-notes to footnotes. Copy and paste.
Convert footnotes to end-notes.
A goggle search revealed a lot of inquires about this problem, with a couple of complicated solutions, including macros.

Thanks
