How to take last numbers of a string to another cell ?

Postby Micheal T. Leo » Wed Aug 20, 2014 10:58 am

Hi,

I have a dataset which contains string items like this

139x1
394x9
593x10
329x15

and I want to use any numbers AFTER the x in another cell (leaving the original intact). Now if they were all single numbers or double numbers I could use the RIGHT function but in this case with single and double digits mixed thats not going to work, can anyone help me ?

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

Please use the code given below:
I hope this will help you.
Code: Select all
=RIGHT(A1;LEN(A1)-FIND("x";A1))

Note that if you want true numbers, you may use VALUE to convert text in numerical value (RIGHT returns text)

Thanks,
