How to remove parts of a one-unit drawing ?

Postby Micheal T. Leo » Sat Jun 21, 2014 7:39 am

Hi,

Is it possible to remove a part of a drawing made up of only one basic shape? For example, if I created a circle using the circle
tool and wanted to remove (not just cover up with another image) part of it, can this be done? Can one "select" part of such a
drawing, and simply delete it?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi,

You can "subtract" one shape from another--will that work for your purpose?
For example, make a circle. Overlay (as much or as little as you want) another shape. Select both and do: Modify > Shapes > Subtract.
Whatever part of the circle is covered by the other shape will be "snipped out" and the circle is converted to a curve with the resulting shape.
I hope this will help you.

Thanks,
Tansenn
