PPT files are corrupt.

Postby ann_mooly » Mon Oct 29, 2012 7:40 am

I'm using MS PowerPoint 2003 on Window XP. From last few days I am having a problem displaying my PowerPoint files. Whenever I try to any one of them I get this error: "PowerPoint was unable to display some of the text, images, or objects as slides in the file (my file name) because they have become corrupt." I have tried several things, like tried to open in OpenOffice Impress, tried to save them with different name. No favorable outcome. Please help me. What shall I do now? :(

Yes, there was an update I received few days ago. But I really don't remember what it was. Is this the main cause behind this error? :?:

It may be. Just follow these steps:
  1. Go to Windows Control Pannel.
  2. Open Add or Remove programs.
  3. Just tick on Show Updates.
  4. You need to scroll down the list til you find Security Update for Micorsoft Office PowerPoint 2003(KB2464588).
  5. Select Remove.
You'll be done. 8-)
