External hard drive not recognized in my system.

Postby eppy_dean » Sat Oct 27, 2012 7:53 am

Hey guys, yesterday I bought a new hard drive (external hard drive). I tried to connect it to my computer. But my computer didn't recognize it. Then I went to disk management, but still it was not there. The hard drive is in working state as I tried to connect it to friends' computer. May you tell me what's wrong here? What should I do to make my computer recognize it? Please help here. :)

It seems that you are not giving enough time to your system during booting up to detect the drive.
Let it take enough time to be booted up and then plug-in your external hard drive. Can you see your external HDD in "My Computer"? If not then go to disk management and check there. Or you may check your eSATA data cable. :D
Try as I said and then let me know what happened?

Or you may also try this. Restore the hard drive by using your restore discs or load a fresh copy of your operating system. But before this backup all your data. 8-)
