Error occur while turning on the PC.

Postby Gravial » Fri Nov 23, 2012 11:26 am

Hi friends. It was yesterday when I assembled my PC. I turned it on, but I got an error something like this: CPU Fan error! Press F1 to run set up. After this my PC turned off itself. I tried to turn it on again, and again after the same error it was turned off. I'm sure the fans are working fine as I've already checked them.
Any idea what's wrong here?

Are you sure that the power cable of fan is connected to the motherboard? Check it otherwise.

Did you the run the set up, as suggested by the error? If you did, what happened after running the setup?

Can you tell me in which socket your CPU fan is plugged in? Check there. It should be plugged into CPU_FAN socket instead of SYS_FAN or CHS_FAN socket.

In the right socket, FAN_CPU socket.

It seems a case of overheating.

To fix this problem you have to go to BIOS settings. In BIOS setting you'll see an option asking to alert you if fan is running slow or not. If you are pretty sure that your fan is fine, you need to disable this feature. See if it works for you.
