How to Open csv file into single column ?

Postby Ricky G. Marion » Wed Nov 26, 2014 11:04 am

Hi,

Is it possible to force csv file data to be placed in a single column of many rows instead of a single row with
many columns or do I need to manually reconstruct my csv file one item per line and then open in calc ?

Thanks in advance,

When the data have placed into the Calc table, then you can transpose x/y coordinates of a cell range by usage of "paste special" option. (You can transpose a two dimensional matrix in a Calc document.)
Cut (Ctrl-X) the cellrange, select the Start-cell, and then:

Edit - Paste Special - Options: transpose (and you can adjust all other desired properties) - OK

Thanks,
