Average Issue !

Postby MikeLON » Wed Nov 05, 2014 11:46 am

Hi,

Is there a way to average the last 30 number enter in a row. For example ever day I enter the high temp. for the day, then in a cell have average of the last 30 days.

Any ideas would help me.

Hi,

Code: Select all
=AVERAGE(OFFSET($A$1; 0 ; COUNT($A$1:$AMJ$1)-31 ; 1 ; 30))

The average of:
1) starting point A1
2) zero rows offset
3) as many columns to the right as the count of numbers in the entire row minus 31 columns back to the left
4) one row tall
5) 30 columns wide

Returns an error if there are less than 30 values.

My formula refers to row #1 which addressed by absolute reference $A$1:$AMJ$1.

Well, it is a similar formula getting the average of an offset range OFFSET(start_cell ; COUNT(range)-31 ; 0 ; 30 ; 1)
