Ans. Follow these steps to make backup copy of your .pst file:

  • Close MS Outlook before making backing of your .pst file.
  • Open Control Panel in your system.
  • Double-click the Mail icon.
  • Click Show Profiles.
  • Click your configured profile, and then click Properties.
  • Click Data Files.
  • Under Name, click the Personal Folders Service that you want to back up. By default, this service is called Personal Folders.
  • Click Settings, and then note the path and file name that appears.
  • Close all the Properties windows.
  • Now you can use the pst file which you noted at step8.
